The Addressing America’s Housing Crisis Through Community Partnerships webinar will discuss the efficacy of partnerships in addressing homelessness and the affordable housing crisis in our nation. Panelists will highlight national and regional housing problems and discuss the power of collaboration in addressing housing issues and transforming the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
Dr. Delta R. Bowers, President & CEO of DRB & Associates Consultants, LLC, will moderate the webinar. She is the founder of the Ruth Coles Harris Leadership Institute and Internship Program at Virginia Union University, where she served as the former Interim Dean of the Sydney Lewis School of Business. She is the founder of Renaissance Women of Virginia, Chartering President, and current Vice President of Fund Development of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Richmond Metropolitan Area Chapter, and has served as President of Northern Henrico Civic Association for ten years. We are delighted to have Dr. Bowers, Policy Pathways Board Member, facilitating this timely event.
Our four panelists are:
Reverend David Taylor, Pastor of Signs and Wonders Ministries in Chesterfield, VA, represents faith-based organizations in the battle against homelessness. Possessing associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in Business Administration, Organizational Management, and Marriage and Family Therapy, respectively, and serving on several boards in Central Virginia, Rev. Taylor is deeply involved in serving individuals and families in need. He and his wife, Dr. Laura Taylor, established the thriving Signs and Wonders Ministries in 1997 and have been “Seeking God, Sharing the Gospel, and Serving People” ever since.
Dr. Patrick Graham is CEO of WeBuild Concord, the affordable housing and resource organization for the City of Concord, North Carolina. He is the former president and CEO of Martin Luther King Center (Long Island), a member of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s workforce development board, an Urban League affiliate for the Central Carolinas, and a Senior Policy Advisor for wealth building with the City of Richmond. As an equity practitioner, Dr. Graham led initiatives to empower families and individuals with employment, education, and housing stability. Dr. Graham coined the term “At-opportunity, not at-risk” to redefine how we view talent development and the structures that lead to our nation’s global competitiveness.
Daniel Cohen, Director of Chesterfield County (VA) Department of Community Enhancement. Mr. Cohen has extensive experience in community and economic development, affordable housing and mixed-use development, project management, and comprehensive community and economic development experience. His work in Community Enhancement revolves around keeping Chesterfield County a valuable and desirable place to live. The department supports neighborhoods and corridors by offering resources and services regarding real estate and housing development, revitalization, grant programs, and housing resources and employment support.
Will Dominie, Director of Human Impact Partners’ Housing Justice Program out of Oakland, CA, has spent the last 15 years fighting for a world where we all have a roof over our heads, the resources we need to thrive, and the right to determine our own futures. His work has bridged health, housing, land use, transportation, and climate change in his efforts to move government institutions into alignment with anti-racist, feminist, and mass-based movements. He has served as a trainer and organizational development consultant with governmental and social justice organizations around the country.
